Our latest Ceremony of Darkness Album ”The Lesser Key" is now streaming, available online and in stores!
Founded in 2010, Ceremony of Darkness released their debut album "13" which was well received by fans and critics alike. Winning Best Metal/Hardcore Album of the 2010 Independent Music Awards, "13" additionally featured the song "The Surgeon of New Orleans" which was nominated for Best Metal Song in the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Ceremony of Darkness also released "As the Headstones Fade" only to IMA jukeboxes, featuring selected tracks from "13". In 2013, Ceremony of Darkness released "Flesh of the Witch," a conceptual album about a damaged man and his love affair with a woman accused of witchcraft. The title track from that album was nominated for Best Metal Song in the HMMA's, and can be heard in the Netflix movie "The Incredible Jessica James", the NBC TV Show "Blindspot", and the STARZ series "American Gods". The third album, "Godheim" was released in 2018, receiving acclaim from both critics and fans. The band's fourth effort, "The Lesser Key" was released on March 31, 2023. The palace is haunted...
The Grind
Starting out, we only wanted to share our music with our fans. To connect with people through our musical lexicon. We played live shows every chance we had - clubs, theaters, house parties - anything to connect our fans with our music live. After all the local gigs, regional shows, and playing the Kodak Theater and The El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles we realized the best way for us to evolve as a band was to focus on the stories told through our songs and use various vehicles to deliver our music. Over the last four years, we logged thousands of hours writing and refining — to truly tell stories of pain, loss, even possession — these efforts proved crucial in shaping our sound.
Looking to the Future
We’re ramping up our online engagement with our fans across social media and looking at festivals in support of our upcoming album. Our set list will prominently feature the new stuff but also dive into favorites from our previous releases. Check out our tour page for when we’ll be playing near you, and look for our music in future film, television, and other media.
